It has helped my students write almost twice as fast, now that they had very specific boundaries and structure. The Short-Writes helped my students realize just how varied and strong their opinions were. They created a stepping stone that set up the next step of brainstorming and writing their Introductions. The Introductions, Body Paragraphs, and Conclusions templates are easily stapled together as the writing process continues. When it comes to writing their Final Draft, this progression allows the students to do so with ample ease.

Time:

• I would suggest using these templates over a space of a few days. My class got through this in about a week with everything in this package. Now, we have our Final Draft to finish, so it might be a good plan to count on this entire process taking two weeks, depending on your students' ages.
