How does it work?

In this escape room, students will try to escape out of the haunted chamber of doom and depression by solving 5 different puzzles.

• Vocabulary: In the first task, students must match the correct definitions to vocabulary words from The Raven. The corresponding letters form a numeric code that only the teacher has the encryption key to solve and reveal the first code.
• Figurative Language: In the second task, students must identify 6 types of figurative language within the poem. Highlighted boxes in the correct answers will reveal the code.
• Fallen Phrase: In the third task, students must solve a fallen phrase that when correct, displays an important quote from the poem. Shaded boxes in the quote reveal the code.
• Close Read: In the fourth task, students must answer challenging multiple choice questions about The Raven that when correct, will reveal the code.
• Hidden Message: In the fifth and final task, students must discover the hidden message (a quote from The Raven) using clues from the first four tasks.
