Teaching Pre-AP Spanish students?  Spark interest by using a topic they love-Music!  This Intermediate-Mid level listening activity about a  Bachata Competition is a great way to scaffold listening to help prepare students for AP Spanish.  This recorded conversation between 2 friends comes with 8 comprehension questions.  Some mimic AP Spanish Exam style questions and others check for basic comprehension.  There are 2 open-ended questions to help students think deeply and make connections to other things they know. 

In addition, the teacher instructions give ideas for how to use this activity with your Pre-AP students.  Student note-taking space, ideas for what to pre-teach and a teacher answer key are also included.
