This adorable printable snowball counting game with cotton ball snowballs is a great way for young learners to practice counting to 10. All you need to do is print out the Winter printables pdf file and gather some cotton snowballs, and your toddler, preschooler, pre-kindergarten, or kindergartener can begin counting to ten.

Students will now count out the appropriate amount of cotton snowballs in this snow activity and arrange them on the winter counting mat.

To assist children in counting to ten, there are counting cards featuring mittens of various colors.

Lastly, you can use several snowballs in one hand to demonstrate to preschoolers and kindergarteners how they must add more to the other mitten in order to reach the total on the card. This is a great way to introduce sums and addition vocabulary.

Example: Three snowballs are in your left mitten. How many snowballs more do we need to get to ten? Once they’ve worked it out, repeat the equation to them: “Therefore, three snowballs plus seven additional snowballs equal ten snowballs in total.”

HINT: A marshmallow will also work if you don’t have any fluffy cotton balls on hand. When your child has finished mastering math, you can even let them taste the marshmallows as an added bonus.
