Get your students out of their seats to ask and answer questions about their Spring breaks using the preterite tense.
This is a great community building or social emotional activity for your Spanish classroom. The questions center around what they did or did not do during Spring vacation.
One possible way to do Quiz Quiz Trade:
- Set a timer for the activity depending on how long you would like them to practice.
- Give one card to each student asking and answering the questions on their cards.
- After each student of the pair asks and answers the questions, the students switch cards and give each other a high five. The high five adds community-building to this activity.
- With his/her new card, s/he raises his/her hand to find a new partner to repeat the process.
- Teacher should circulate while the students are talking to encourage them to speak only Spanish.
- After the time is up, collect the cards and then discuss the questions/answers and any difficulties they had while answering the questions.
⭐️ This could also be used as a Gallery Walk. Hang the questions around the room or hallway and give the students the included handout with the numbers. They write down the answer to the corresponding question. For example, if the student is at question #5, she/he finds #5 on her/his sheet and writes the answer to the question.
⭐️ Other variations are included in the directions.
