Sub Activity Art & Early Finishers | Reflection Mandalas

These cross-curricular mandala activities are a perfect sub activity or for early finishers in the elementary Art room. Use them as a standalone resource for your sub while you are away from the classroom, as an activity for those students who finish assignments early, or to redirect off task students - with the sub or you - to keep them engaged and reinforce art skills in the classroom.

This resource includes 9 pages of reflection activities for your early finishers to keep them engaged and on task while supporting reflective thinking and writing in the Art room with authentic work. TEKS and National Arts Standards are included for grades 2-5. This may be used with middle school students also.

Activities center around mandalas. Each page has a different one with a variety of questions for your students to reflect on and answer. After completing the reflection, students have a specific space to create their own mandala. Students can also color the mandala printed on the page.

This resource is in PDF file. It includes:

  • 9 pages of reflections with mandalas
  • Of the 9 pages, 3 pages have 2 different mandalas for comparison
  • Reflective questions vary on the pages
  • TEKS and National Core Arts Standards are included for grades 2-5
  • Each page has instructions for reflections.
