SUMMARY:

"Father" wants to build a new barn for his new horse and cow; however, "mother" wants the new barn to be refurbished into her new house. Who gets what they want? How? Does "father" give in to "mother's" wishes or does she have to revolt? “The Revolt of ‘Mother’” addresses themes of domestic rebellion, self-assertion, the repression of women, and tradition in a male-dominated society.

This 10th - 12th grade canonized work allows students to look at themselves, social expectations, and our society.
