"The Graveyard Book": Who are the Jacks? Activity

Making connections:

After reading "The Graveyard Book", students will make connections from their previous knowledge, what they have read, and information given to them during this activity to make connections. Students enjoy finding out about the mysterious "Jacks of all Trades" who were the shadowy antagonists of the story.

Making connections to literature is an important skill for students and this activity is an engaging way to make those connections.

My students enjoyed learning where the names of the Jacks originated.
