The Large Hadron Collider - reading for int/adv French students - Google™ drive

This French reading comprehension activity will teach your students about the role of the Large Hadron Collider. What is the Large Hadron Collider? Why are some people worried that its existence could cause the end of the world? What are scientists doing with it? And what would happen if you put a person in front of the beams? Find out the answers to all of these in this article for intermediate/advanced French students.

It is suitable for novice-high/intermediate-low students with teacher guidance and higher-level students to work independently.  If you teach AP French, this reading can be useful in giving your students practice reading nonfiction articles for the interpretive section of the test.  The reading can lead to discussion or writing activities to include the other two modes of communication.

The Google™ drive item includes:

  • Google slides reading in French about the Large Hadron Collider
  • 10 comprehension questions in English
  • 10 comprehension questions in French
  • Answer key
