Uppercase alphabet dough letter build and write printing practice- Fine Motor OT

Build and write letters dough mat activity for Uppercase Letters

In this hands on, multisensory activity, students won’t even realize they are learning! In this resource, they will learn letter formation by first building the capital letter with dough or putty, tracing the letter, and then writing the letter.

Building letters with putty and doh is not only a fun and engaging way to learn letter formation, but students are working on foundational fine motor skills needed for writing. Students don’t have to use a pencil for writing, try broken crayons (broken crayons help promote tripod grasp pattern), q-tip painting, or fingerpaint. When writing letters for this activity, students use handwriting letter boxes with starting point to help with letter size, placement, and spacing. Perfect for pre-K and kindergarten centers, as well as OT groups, homeschool, and handwriting practice
