A perfect Valentine's Day or Ground Hog Day poetry activity. You can use this anytime in February! Students will be given direction on how to write a Haiku with the proper syllables. Then they will read two examples and write their own Haiku. They can write about anything that reminds them of February: Ground Hog Day, Valentine's Day, winter, etc. This is great for a writing center or just for a fun creative writing activity as a whole class.
