Tired of the same old weaving projects? Get your students excited about weaving with this set of untraditional weaving projects. Based on the art of Canadian Ted Harrison, these 2 projects will inspire and mesmerize your students and create amazing artwork.
The cross-curricular lesson includes both a paper weaving and a yarn weaving project designed for 2nd -5th grade and can easily be used for middle school. This lesson is highly engaging, multi-disciplinary, and produces amazing artwork to display for the hallway or an art show.
Use the projects as is or let students choose a project while learning about contemporary artist Ted Harrison and landscapes. This is a great end-of-year project to engage students in weaving but can be used in conjunction with a unit on artists, landscapes, weaving, or any time of the year.
This resource is in a PDF file and contains 21 pages. It includes:
Designed for 2nd-5th grades, it is adaptable for middle school students. This lesson includes TEKS (if you are in Texas) and National Core Arts Standards for 2nd-5th grades.
