Practice the differences between the -ch/-tch word ending. Example lesson provides practice in phonological awareness, guided practice, connection to word meaning, reading of text with WH questions.
This packet has activities and visuals to support practice with demonstrating understanding of why we use -ch or a -tch ending.
- Students will sort words/pictures with the -ch/-tch ending
- Students can practice writing / or selecting the appropriate word ending.
- A bw / color visual is provided to discuss the rules. Students can color their visual and take home.
- Students will highlight, read and then write sentences using the words they have learned. For more practice have students read their sentences to one another!
- Students will also read three short stories. Wh questions about the story included for comprehension practice.
