Schiffe versenken German Verb Conjugation Battleship

By Miss Clever Cookie

My favourite game to practice German verb conjugations (schwache, starke, trennbare, reflexive, Misch-, Modalverben, Verben auf -eln und -ern**.** It can be used in any tense. No prep, just PRINT AND GO.

This is my go-to game when I need to drill some grammar into my students. It's by far the most efficient grammar game. I love it because it's so easy to use. And my students love it because it doesn't feel like learning when, in fact, they do a TON of learning. We can easily spend the whole lesson playing battleship and they want to keep on playing even after the bell rings.

It's also a great activity for substitute lessons or when I'm in a time press and don't have much time to prepare for a lesson.

How to play:

  • It can be played in pairs or in small teams
  • Hide your ships in the left field. They mustn't touch.
  • Form sentences in order to "hit" the enemy ships in the right field.
  • If your enemy hits your ship, indicate that in the left field. If you hit your enemy's ship, mark it down in the right field. If you miss, mark it down as well. If you hit your enemy's ship, have another go.
  • To win, sink all of your enemy's ships before he sinks yours.

Contains:

  • detailed instructions + picture instructions
  • 9 battleship sheets, each covering different grammar
  • each sheet contains simplified instructions

The 9 sheets focus on:

  1. schwache Verben - weak verbs
  2. starke Verben - strong verbs
  3. Verben auf -eln und -ern - verbs ending in -eln and -ern
  4. trennbare Verben - separable verbs
  5. reflexive Verben mit Akkusativ - reflexive verbs accusative
  6. reflexive Verben mit Dativ - reflexive verbs dativ
  7. Modalverben + wissen - modal verbs and the verb wissen
  8. Mischverben - mixed verbs
  9. and as a BONUS ein und kein im Akkusativ - ein and kein in accusative

Decoración de San Valentín - Valentine's Day Decoration in Spanish

By Teaching with Cafe con Leche

Decorate your classroom or hallway for Valentine's Day with these colorful hearts in Spanish.

The bulletin board decoration set contains 24 color and b&w hearts to learn or review vocabulary about Valentine’s day.

Let your students color the hearts and then cut them in half with different patterns. Or they can just cut the color hearts as shown in the picture. Put all the half hearts on a bulletin board and let your students find the other halves.

The bulletin board that I put together with these hearts is on a hallway and it was really fun seeing students stop and look for the other half hearts.

These hearts are included in the Bingo set:

Bingo de San Valentín – Día del amor y la amistad (Valentine’s Day Bingo)

PRINTING NOTE: For best results please be sure your computer is fully updated. TeachShare also recommends printing from Adobe Acrobat for greatest success.

French Articles Definite and Indefinite Worksheets - Exercises

By Love Learning Languages - French Resources

These 3 French definite and indefinite articles worksheets are best for students who have been studying French for a while, but who still struggle with understanding how and when to use definite as opposed to indefinite articles. These exercises will help students remember why we need to use articles and the reason why choosing the correct one is so important.

The focus of these exercises is to choose correctly between definite and indefinite articles. Sometimes it is difficult when students don't know if the noun in question is masculine or feminine. That's why there is one worksheet that uses only masculine & singular nouns, another that uses only feminine & singular nouns, and one more that uses only plural nouns, masculine and feminine.

You'll notice that the vocabulary used is more advanced than what it is when you first teach articles. These exercises are really to help non-beginners who still struggle to remember how and when to use definite and indefinite articles.

Included with this resource:

  • Exercise, LE vs UN + answer key and English translation
  • Exercise, LA vs UNE + answer key and English translation
  • Exercise, LES vs DES + answer key and English translation

Example:

_____ a. Dans ma rue, il y a __(UNE)___ boulangerie qui fabrique de très bonnes

pâtisseries.

_____ b. Où est __(LA)___ boulangerie Au bon pain, s’il vous plaît?

French Speaking Activity: Faire de la Conversation

By Love Learning Languages - French Resources

Your students are going to learn a lot with this lesson, and it will have them speaking to each other in no time. This lesson can easily be used with beginners, intermediate, or advanced learners. You can adapt it to every level. Beginners should at least know the verbs être and avoir and some very basic vocabulary. More advanced students can go far, as there are many possibilities. ☞Just click here to follow my store! Merci! ❤️☜ Activity 1 Practice making conversation during a phone call from your friend, Luc. He will ask you to come to his party. Your lines are fairly open-ended, but they must correspond to what he says next, so watch out! Activity 2 Before moving on to the second part of this speaking activity, let’s review some of the most common professions. You can practice this new vocabulary by clicking on the link above which will bring you to a set of review exercises on Quizlet. This document contains a list of professions in English and French, then there's another part with only the French word and an image. All of the images correspond to the images found within the Quizlet study set. After reviewing the professions vocabulary, proceed to the next page where you will see a picture of 11 different people, all with different professions. Activity 3 Tout d’abord, comment s’appellent ces gens, quel âge ont-ils, et quelles sont leurs professions? Have a look at the people in this picture. Use your imagination to determine what their professions are (you may not have the same ideas as others, and that’s ok). Once you’ve determined their professions, tell us what their names are, and how old they are. Again, use your imagination, and try to come up with some French names! Look just below the picture to see an example, then complete the exercise by providing the same information for the other 10 people in the picture (left to right). Activity 4 Now let’s imagine we’re at a party (une soirée). It’s time to make polite conversation (ce qui peut être difficile, mais nous sommes très polis, et intéressants!) Let’s imagine that all of the people in the picture above are at the party, but they don’t know each other. It’s time to make small talk (faire des rencontres et des échanges), en français! Activity 5 Randomly choose two people from the picture above. You’ve already established their names, ages, and professions. The objective here is to have two people who don’t know each other make small talk. You will be practicing your conversation skills, which are: starting a conversation, continuing a conversation, and ending a conversation. French Passé Composé - Être and Avoir - Challenge Task Cards Activity

By Love Learning Languages - French Resources

This is a set of 30 French passé composé tense task cards that you can use in a number of ways with your students. Each card has a French verb in the infinitive form and a sentence with a blank. Students must fill in the blanks with the correct form of the infinitive in the passé composé. These cards offer an excellent opportunity to see the many ways in which we can use the passé composé as opposed to the imparfait. There's a nice mixture of common regular and irregular verbs to work with using both avoir and être as helping verb. An answer key is provided. ⇒This resource is included in my French 2 grammar, vocabulary, task cards, games and activities GROWING BUNDLE
⇒These task cards are also part of my $ saving French Passé Composé Bundle - Être ou Avoir?
Students can work with a partner as a cooperative activity and to practice speaking or they can work individually to practice writing. Task cards are a nice alternative to worksheets which can sometimes seem tedious or boring. Just print, cut out and laminate these cards and you're ready to go, no prep for years to come! If you look in the upper left corner you'll see a space where you can neatly punch a hole in each card and then connect them with a keyring. This really makes using these task cards easy enough to decide on using at the drop of a hat, and they make for fantastic review. Included with this product: 30 imperfect task cards, black and white version 30 imperfect task cards, color version Answer key Student response sheet You may be interested in the following PASSÉ COMPOSÉ and IMPARFAIT resources: BUY ONE GET ONE FREE: French Passé Composé - Imparfait - TASK CARDS BUNDLE
