A Lesson on the event leading up to the Ukraine Crisis 2022. In order to understand this, students need to take a deep look into the history of the struggle Ukraine has had with its more powerful neighbors in its attempts to become independent. Finally, in 1991, Ukraine was free of domination and created its own government system, and claimed independence for the first time in history. In an attempt to reach independence, there has been a great amount of bloodshed over the centuries.

Let's take a look at the rich history of Ukraine while having fun at the same time. This is an interactive lesson.

It is important that our student have fun as they are learning! Implement this group cooperating activity as a means of teaching your students the cultural, geographical, governmental and economics of South America. This scavenger hunt has a twist as it is not only a hunt, but also a game all in one. This lesson can be modified to only be used as a scavenger hunt if needed.

The goal of the game is to earn the most points without answering the same questions twice. Students will take turns rolling die to determine which question they will attempt to answer. They will be given 60 seconds and resources to help in determining the answer if they do not already know it. Students will have a blast! Before you know it, class will be over and they will have gained/reviewed a wealth of knowledge.

Need a great world geography activity for your continent of Africa study? These 24 Africa Task Cards are a great way to introduce the unit by having students work in cooperative groups centers or individually to read the task card questions and research the answers to each task card question as if it were a scavenger hunt. These may also be used at the end of the Africa Continent unit to evaluate what students gained during the unit. Display these task cards throughout the room and have students work on a timed rotation exploring the different aspects of Africa such as physical, political, cultural, and economic characteristics. Using Exit Cards is an effective way to evaluate the progress each student. These can be used as Entrance or Exit cards depending on how it works best for you and your students. Which card is shared first, Entrance or Exit, is up to the teacher. The order is not dependent. Entrance cards are used for the purpose of helping students synthesize their learning. However, they can also be used as a formative assessment tool for the next day or week’s lesson. This is a great way to get your students excited about studying a historical or current figure. Students use research and inference skills to create a resume for a historical or current figure. The example given is Mao Zedong's Resume'. Students will create an objective as to what job the character is applying. The character's education, work experience, etc. will be included. This will enhance the student's comprehension of who the character is and/or was.
