Are your students having difficulty learning and identifying coins and their values? Mine were, so I worked to develop this interactive notebook and PowerPoint slides & I am thrilled with their progress!

The materials in this packet are developed to use in conjunction with one another. Use the powerpoint to introduce coins, then use the notebook to provide practice with each concept. I have also included a parent letter and a 2 page assessment to provide you with valuable pre/post learning data.

Notebook - The notebook is in black and white. Students are encouraged to color pages to reinforce the colors of coins and make the book more "theirs". Most pages require students to make interactive activities with simple cuts & paste directions. Pages that require more directions (accordion counting, and pocket with flap), are towards the end of the book.

The notebook features practice in the following areas for identification and use of the penny, nickel, dime and quarter:

•Sorting – Color and sort coins into a jar

•Identification – Identify front, back, value, and information about the penny, nickel, dime and quarter.

•Counting by 1’s, 5’s, 10’s, 25’s: 2 activities! Students will identify how much & use coins to make requested amount

The vocabulary words and their definitions are aligned with the corresponding pages for easy reference. For instance, pages 1 and 2 are designed for seamless printing and preparation. If you plan to use this resource as an interactive activity, be sure to have students cut out the definitions before providing them with the vocabulary words. This ensures that they actively engage with the material rather than having the answers readily available.

This 3D shapes puzzle is a fun way to test students recognition of 3D shapes, complete with their properities. Students match the image of a shape with the name, its properties of number of faces, vertices & edges, and a possible net.

18 shapes are included: Sphere, Cube, Cuboid (two versions), Square Based Pyramid, Cylinder, Cone, Regular Tetrahedron, Hexagonal Prism, Triangular Prism, Irregular Pentagonal Prism, Hemisphere, Square Pyramidal Frustum, Conical Frustum, Dodecahedron, Icosehedron, Irregular Tetrahedron and Octahedron.

Two versions are included; one where the 3D shapes are solid, and another where the 3D shapes are wire frames so students can see the number of edges etc. This is also a good option for using less ink when printing.

It is designed to be easily cut with little wastage. So either the teacher or tutor can prepare the cards by cutting them before hand, or students can cut their own cards, giving them a chance to see the solutions before they attempt the puzzle.

Although this product is made in colour, it prints perfectly well in black and white.

As a teacher, teaching conversions was always a struggle for my students until we created the Dinosaur and Mounse strategies. In this strategy, the larger measurement is the Dinosaur, and the small measurement is the Mouse.
