Building a Compound Sentence Poster | Grammar | Writing
By That Christian Educator
Understanding how compound sentences are built can be a bit tricky. With this poster, building a compound sentence is as easy as....a s'more! Once my students began using the s'more method to build compound sentences, their writing and grammar skills saw major improvement.
This poster features a sample compound sentence broken down into labeled parts accompanied by cute illustrations which help students visualize the process. There is a colored copy as well as a black and white version. I recommend using ADOBE to print as a poster to the desired percentage. Available as a PDF download.

Idioms are so fun to learn! Don't take them too literally! There are so many idioms that I have made a classroom set of idiom pages. Each student gets their own idiom. They then get to draw a literal meaning of the picture for everyone to giggle at. Then at the bottom of the page they write what the idiom really means. You can display these after on your bulletin board or around your room. Let your students show what they know about idioms in a creative way, then hang them up for others to learn from your class. There are 33 different idioms included in this classroom set.
