File Folder Board Games Practice Turn taking, Rules, Politeness (Special Ed)
By Until the Pieces Fit
6 File Folder Games
File folder games allow students opportunities to learn to through play. Communication and appropriate interactions are important skills they will need throughout life.
This set provides 6 different activities, however they each follow the same general rules, expectations, and idea. I use this with my kiddos that need practice turn taking, losing (students may lose a desired game piece), cooperation, following directions, matching and so much more. The games are easy in nature, however highly addictive for the competitive kids. This allows for opportunities with students in differing abilities.
The themes for the games are:
Fill the Wagon
Make a cake
Buggy Day
Laundry
Moon Walk
Ice Cream
Rules (some differences in games - this example is the Fill the wagon rules).
Contents & Prep:
*For easy storage of game pieces attach an envelope to the back of the file folder prior to lamination. Make a small slice in the lamination to release the top of the envelope. Attach velcro to close.
Object: Be the first to collect all the items except the leaf pile in your wagon. If you have the books or the leaf pile and someone else lands on it you have to give it to the other player.
Choose your player: Once you have chosen your player, place them on the board any spot will do!

What Belongs? Sampler Freebie - Cut, Sort, and Paste Activities
By Three Little Homeschoolers
This is a free sampler of my What Belongs? Series and includes pages from each of the four What Belongs? resources: Holidays, Places and Habitats, Rooms of the House, and Seasons. This is a great way to try out these cut, sort, and paste worksheets to see if they're a good fit for your classroom or homeschool!
Included with this sampler are several of the Thanksgiving, Forest, Laundry Room, and Summer worksheets. I've included examples of all three types of worksheets that come in the full versions. On "What belongs in..." worksheets, students cut out the pictures and glue the ones that fit the theme in the box. On "What is missing in..." worksheets, students cut out and glue the missing pieces on the picture to create a scene that matches the theme. And on the comparison worksheets, students have to decide which theme the pictures match and glue them in the correct box.
*Please note: I've included black and white versions of the comparison and "What belongs in..." worksheets in the freebie, but both color and black and white are included in the full versions.*
The full versions of the What Belongs? units include fall, winter, spring, and summer, year long holidays like Halloween, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Easter, and more, plus habitats/places such as the Arctic, the ocean, the farm, and the rooms of the house such as the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and more.
These are great for preschool or kindergarten, in special education classrooms, and in homeschools teaching various ages! I have even used the comparison worksheets for my middle elementary aged child in our homeschool as a fun holiday reprieve from his regular work!

Knowing what signs indicate sensory needs is imperative for adults working with students with autism or sensory processing disorders. This poster gives indicators of ONE type of sensory need 'vestibular'. It also pairs signs that a student may be over or underresponsive to vestibular sensory and activities to help the student self-regulate under either circumstance. Check out my Sensory Room Bundle for a complete sensory room setup including seven more posters like this one, mini-visual schedules for the sensory room, rules for the sensory room visual poster, and science standards that are aligned to sensory activities.
