Idioms are so fun to learn! Don't take them too literally! There are so many idioms that I have made a classroom set of idiom pages. Each student gets their own idiom. They then get to draw a literal meaning of the picture for everyone to giggle at. Then at the bottom of the page they write what the idiom really means. You can display these after on your bulletin board or around your room. Let your students show what they know about idioms in a creative way, then hang them up for others to learn from your class. There are 33 different idioms included in this classroom set.

Are you teaching character traits to your students? There are two posters, one of a girl and one of a boy scientist. Character traits of a scientist are listed. There is a worksheet for students to complete that will depict them as a scientist and list the character traits that would make them a great scientist. This is a good introduction to science that incorporates ELA (character traits and verbs).
