Best Real-Life Math! RSA Encryption - All the math you need to encrypt data
By Daniel
Where do we use school mathematics in real life?
The following complete guide sets out ALL the mathematics we do in middle and early high school used in the RSA Public Key Cryptosystem.
RSA Encryption is one of the most modern and powerful methods of encryption and is used by computer scientists, big banks and websites who need to secure data.
Do not be surprised, the list is complete and no other, more complicated mathematics is ever used in RSA Encryption.
Topics done in grade school: Factors, Multiples, Products, Times Tables, Division, Remainders, Integers, Prime Numbers, Composite Numbers, Exponents, Rules for Divisibility etc.
Topics not specifically done in grade school but for which 7th-10th grade students possess ALL the mathematics knowledge: Modular Arithmetic, Successive Squaring, The Euclidean Algorithm, The Euler Phi Function, Euler's Formula, The Extended Euclidean Algorithm
It is important that students know (and that teachers always remind them) when they are busy with these topics, that they are learning fundamental mathematics needed to encrypt data and secret messages.
If you need the Tasks and Keys on All the Math needed for the RSA encryption, this is all of it, in A BUNDLE! Get it here:

Thanksgiving Craft | Writing Center | Cutting Practice | Fall Learning Activity
By Morgan Jeffries
My Thanksgiving Dinner - Writing Center
(Thanksgiving Crafts)
This is a fun writing/cutting Thanksgiving activity for your students. There is a “dinner plate” you can either keep on the paper or cut out and glue on a separate piece of construction paper or any paper of your choice. Once that is done there are #3 different pages of #30 different food items that your students can cut out and choose what they want their thanksgiving dinner to look like. Once they have cut the pieces out they will then glue the foods they want for their thanksgiving dinner onto the dinner plate.
Once your students have chosen what food they want for their thanksgiving dinner and glued it onto their plate they will practice tracing the words for each food item. Once they have cut out the words they need they can glue them to the paper I created or any blank paper of your choice. Then once that is done have them glue the words to the bottom of their plate paper and display their art in the classroom or send it home to parents.
Or if you have some independent writers you can have them write the words independently without the last step of tracing and gluing.
