Subitizing is the ability to instantly and accurately recognize groups of objects between one and three items. These camping themed letter and number cards and puzzles are a great summer activity for preschool and kindergarten students. Students can practice letter and number recognition by matching capital and lowercase letters, matching numbers and number words up to 20.

What is Included:

• Alphabet cards for capital and lowercase letters
• Number cards for numbers 1-20 and number words.
• 2 piece alphabet puzzles that match capital and lowercase letters
• 3 piece number puzzles for numbers 1-20.

Students will love the hands on activities in this resource. There are a variety of different games and activities that students can complete independently or with a partner.

Ways to Use the Cards:

• Matching Game: Match capital and lowercase letters or numbers to the number words.
• Fishing Game: Attach a paper clip to the card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters or numbers.
• Salt/Sand Tray: Use these cards as a model to show students what to write in the sand.
• Letter or Number Hunts: Have students find the letters or numbers that you have hidden around the room.
• ABC Order or Number Order: Have students place letters or numbers in the correct order.
• Pocket Chart Game: Place the cards into a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the cards. Have students guess which card the hidden picture is behind.

With a wide variety of uses, these cards will allow students to be engaged with learning their letters and numbers, as well as learning number words and practice counting.

This sight word set includes all Level 1 trick words all printed on sun cards. These are great for practicing sight words for a summer, seasonal or weather themed literacy center! Directions for Flash Cards: Print on card stock, cut apart and laminate for durability. Directions for Matching Game: Print the cards out twice on card stock, cut apart and laminate for durability. Other ideas: Place a set of cards in ABC order.

Summer Camping-Themed Letters & Number Matching Game:

The s'mores with numbers have another s'more with the corresponding number of shapes to match. This helps students practice one-to-one correspondence and number recognition.

The s'mores with letters have an Uppercase and lowercase letter to match. This helps the students start learning and matching the correct letters together.

I would print and laminate these for better durability.
