Order of Operations 3 DIGITAL PIXEL ARTS - SUMMER THEME - VARYING DIFFICULTY

By Mostly Middle School Math

For this activity, you and your students will need access to Google Sheets. For best use, each student should have their own device.

Engage your students in a fun and interactive way with this Math Pixel Art Activity with Google Sheets! Perfect for reinforcing order of operations, this activity challenges students to solve order of operation problem to reveal a hidden pixel art picture. Each set gets harder as they go, allowing you to differentiate for students!

What you're getting:

  • Pixel Art 1 - Level One (sun)
  • Pixel Art 2 - Level Two (beach scene)
  • Pixel Art 3 - Level Three (jellyfish)

There are 19 total problems in EACH pixel art, totaling 57 total problems.

How it works:

  • Students will solve a series of order of operation problems, each corresponding to a color or section of a pixelated image.
  • As they evaluate the expressions correctly, they "fill in" the picture, pixel by pixel, revealing a fun design at the end.
  • The more problems they solve, the clearer the image becomes, providing instant feedback and a sense of accomplishment!

Why it's great for the classroom:

  • Engaging & Interactive: Keeps students focused while practicing essential math skills.
  • Instant Feedback: Students can immediately see the results of their work, motivating them to keep solving problems.
  • Differentiation: Different levels of difficulty make it ideal for any classroom setting!

This Math Pixel Art Activity is a fantastic way to combine creativity with learning, making algebra fun and exciting for students of all ages!
