For Any Grade English Language Arts Games (by date, oldest first)

These cards can be used for every subject and every grade level. They are designed to celebrate the Christmas season, but you decide how you'll use them! Each card has an editable text box you can fill with sight words, math facts, reading comprehension questions, letters, numbers... the possibilities are endless.

Here is a set of task cards for common nouns and proper nouns that are perfect for getting in the Christmas spirit with Santa! Each card has an underlined word that must be identified as a common or proper noun. These task cards could also easily used for a game of SCOOT for some classroom fun!

This is a noun sorting game mat that’s perfect for Halloween, a witch theme….or any time that you’re working on nouns. For this activity, nouns on the witch hat are sorted between person, place, or thing on the game mat. It is then recorded on the worksheet (or record sheet).

This Set Includes:

• Game Board/Sorting Mat (2 pages)
• 24 Noun Cards
• Cover/Directions, Answer Key, and 2 Tab Labels (to use if mounted in file folder)
• Worksheet/Record Sheet

SUGGESTION: This could be printed on card stock and laminated together or mounted inside a file folder and use the cover and tab labels. Laminate after assembling the file folder. Both ways, it can be used over and over!

UPDATE: (10/06/2021) This game was completely redone to include updated clipart and an easier to read font. This update can't be seen in the preview, but it in the thumbnails.

The Triple Ice Cream Scoop alphabetical order activity is a versatile and engaging resource that can be utilized as task cards or a SCOOT game, making it ideal for various learning settings. It is also well-suited for center activities, providing an opportunity for individual work for alphabetical order.
Additionally, the differentiated record sheets with varying line sizes cater to different ages and grades, ensuring inclusive participation.

Each task card in the set features a unique "theme", like clothes, animals, school supplies, and more. By incorporating themes, the activity becomes more interactive and relatable, capturing students' interest and motivating them to participate actively.

As task cards, students can work individually or in groups to arrange the words on each card in alphabetical order. This activity encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills while reinforcing alphabetical order comprehension. The task cards are easily portable and can be used in different learning environments, enabling flexible and adaptable use.

The Triple Ice Cream Scoop activity can also be implemented as a SCOOT game, adding an element of excitement and competition. When I began my teaching career, I needed an engaging way to practice spelling. I came up with Spelling Tag. Later, I no longer needed to have students practice spelling, but that didn't mean I gave up Spelling Tag.

This active game is best played outside. If your students know how to play Freeze Tag, they will be able to easily pick up the simple rule changes to play this game.

Materials:

• calling cards (print and cut out)
• set of Bingo sheets (6 different cards, black/white and color)
• blank bingo card
• small object like buttons, beads, paper circles, or candies to be markers (not included)

How to Play:

Each player receives a Bingo sheet and handful of markers. The caller draws a card and says the word. The players mark the word called on their sheets- if they have it. When a player marks four words in a row either across, down, or diagonal, they shout, "Bingo!"
