This lesson includes 5 sections that address the major themes of Genesis 10 and help the reader think about the text. The lesson does not require the use of any specific translation, which makes the lesson compatible with whatever translation the reader is comfortable using.

Who is this study for and what will they learn?
This lesson is written for teens and adults who want to have a better understanding of the Bible. Teens and adults will be introduced to the major themes of Genesis 10 in an engaging way that helps you see for yourself how the text develops these themes, and why it matters.

This is what is included:

• A brief description of the major themes of Genesis 10
• A walk through of the text showing how the themes are developed in Genesis 10

Here’s a fun free flipbook for Earth Day that focuses on the 3 R’s of Earth Day. The 3 R’s are reduce, reuse, and recycle. There is a page for each to write what each kid would do for that particular R. There’s also a space to draw something that could be done for that particular R.

To assemble the flipbook, cut along the dotted line and discard the bottom of the page. This is done to all but the last page. The pages are then placed in order and stapled where indicated.

This free graphic organizer is great for having your second and third grade students work on using different parts of texts to determine the main idea. Easy to use, just print and use with any text! When introducing, or reinforcing, main idea with my students, I review multiple ways to help determine the main idea of stories.

To find the main idea we:

• look at the title
• look at the pictures
• look for repeated words
• reread the first sentence

My class uses this organizer to list information gained from each of those tips and then combine it together to write the main idea in the middle.

Perfect for cooperative learning too!

• create groups of 4
• assign each student one strategy
• have them share with their group what they found
• work together to determine main idea
