Why do you need this?

Fans provide a quick and nonverbal way for students to communicate their level of understanding during lessons or activities. This immediate feedback allows teachers to gauge comprehension in real-time and adjust instruction accordingly.

Using fans can increase student engagement by giving them an active role in their learning process. Students feel empowered to express their understanding or ask for clarification, which promotes a sense of ownership and participation in their education.

An eco-map is often used an assessment tool in clinical mental health settings, but can be a beneficial SEL activity for social awareness. This exercise can be modified for small children all the way through adults.

The graph asks the participant to picture their social life as an ecosystem where they are at the center. In the blank space around them they can write in all of their formal and informal social ties and resources they have. (For younger children I suggest offering the option to draw the people in their life!) For further reflection, the participant can then add a + to signify if the person/resource is a positive part of their life, a - to signify if the person/resource is a negative part of their life, or write +- to signify a give and take relationship.

I use this worksheet along with social awareness lessons to encourage students to think about who they can ask for help from, who they have as supports, or reflect on relationships. It also allows you to gain insight into your students' life and resources outside of the classroom.

Great Buddy Activity:

I designed this directed drawing as an activity when my fifth graders were working with preschoolers. We celebrated May by learning about Mary and finished by creating a picture of Mary.

Older students led the younger students, but this could easily be a teacher led activity.

Creativity comes into the activity when the students color and add their own details onto the picture of Mary.

This in-depth bible study on the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 1, contains two versions that walk you through some of the events during the life of Jesus. One version for students and children between the ages of 8-12, and the other for teens, teachers, and adults. This would be a great resource for homeschoolers as well.

This study was created to help encourage you to do along with your students, or child, as you dive deeper into Mark. By doing these lessons together, not only is it a wonderful way to bond with your child or students over the word of God as you share what you've learned, but you also set an example of the importance of studying the REAL bible! Often kid's are exposed to so many bible stories, often littered with inaccuracies, that it can make the details and messages confusing.

⭐Don't underestimate the power of God's Word, it can stand on it's own!⭐

This study was based on scripture using the ESV bible, but you are welcome to use any version you would like. It would be helpful, for teens and adults, to have access to the Strong's Concordance to look up some of the root words. (I love using Blueletterbible.org to get access to this, as well as other commentary or bible versions.)

This OOPS Card Version can be played in any class but can also be used for ESL classes.

Objective:
The objective of the game "Oops" is to get your teammates to guess a word without using certain pre-defined words or phrases associated with it - these are called "Oopsies"

Gameplay:

1. The clue giver draws a card from the deck, revealing the mystery word and its associated oopsies (taboo words).
2. The clue giver must describe the word without using any of the "oopsies" listed on the card.
3. The clue giver's teammates try to guess the word based on the clues given.
4. The clue giver can use any verbal clues or gestures but must avoid the "oopsies" at all costs.
5. The clue giver's teammates can make as many guesses as they want within a time limit (usually one minute).
6. If a teammate guesses the word correctly, the team earns a point. If the clue giver uses an "oopsie," they forfeit a point.
7. After the time is up or the word is correctly guessed, play passes to the next team.
8. Play continues back and forth until all players have had a turn as the clue giver or a set number of rounds has been completed.
9. The team with the most number of points wins.
