The classifying plants file folder activity allows students to label the parts of plants - cells, stem, roots, and leaves. Students will also match the following vocabulary words and their meanings with pictures: parallel veins and netted veins found in leaves, soft stems and woody stems, smooth leaf margins and jagged leaf margins found on leaves, waxy texture, smooth texture, and rough texture found on leaves, and taproots and fibrous roots. Students can do this independently, with support, or with a partner.

This fun and colorful picture sort is ideal for teaching students about animal classifications and groups! This can be used in a center, for small groups, whole class, or independently! Students are asked to sort animal picture cards into the following categories: mammals, birds, fish, insects, and reptiles/amphibians. ⭐Cover the NGSS about life cycles while reading about TICKS! Students will also learn a little bit about Lyme Disease and how to protect themselves from this growing problem. This booklet comes in two sizes. This is a great group read and discussion for first and second graders. It is an independent read for third and fourth grades. There two posters with pictures of ticks and even the bulls-eye rash. There are Lyme Disease prevention tips for the teacher if you decide to share these.
