As our students are completing written assignments, little words/parts of speech that are commonly confused when writing with words such is, are, am, was, and were. My students are confusing them for each other continuously. The words is, are, am, was, and were are emphasized in this product. In this product, students will learn the English vocabulary word for the 102 different home vocabulary words presented. Students will initially write each vocabulary word in their native language and after learning the English word, students will complete the home vocabulary review where they will be required to fill in the English and their native language for each home vocabulary word. Pictures are included for each vocabulary word to help students make connections to what each home vocabulary word is. Students can do this independently or with help. Students will be required to answer a few comprehension questions that relate with what home vocabulary words they see in their home, outside of their home, or in a family member's home, students will also learn the various items that we will see in our homes. Students will then be required to choose 11 home vocabulary words and make up a sentence using each word.

In this product, students will learn the sign and English vocabulary word for the 111 different health vocabulary words presented. Students will initially write each vocabulary word in their native language after learning the English word, being exposed to a sentence that includes each health vocabulary word, and being shown a picture. At the end of this section, students will have the opportunity to choose 11 health vocabulary words and make up a sentence using each one. Students will also answer 6 comprehension questions that relate with the health vocabulary words presented.

In the second section of the product, there is a health vocabulary review that requires students to write the English word and the word in the student's native language based on the picture and sentence provided for each health vocabulary word.

In the third section of the product, there is a health vocabulary review that requires students to make up a sentence for each vocabulary word learned in their native language.

In the fourth section of the product, there is a health vocabulary review that requires students to make up a sentence for each vocabulary word learned in English.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

WORKSHEETS

No-Prep, just print and go. You can use just the cut and paste pages or also pass out the additional sentence writing page that matches. The second page can also be used for early finishers. The ABC cut and paste worksheet has the alphabet listed as a reference. The sentences page has an editing checklist on it.

LITERACY CENTER

Cut apart the 26 picture/word cards and place in center. Print one or both recording sheets and place in center. Students choose 6 picture/word cards, copy those 6 words onto their cut and paste sheet, then complete their worksheet. If you place the second worksheet at the station, then students will choose 4 of their words to practice writing sentences with.
