Acorn Complete Sentences and Incomplete Sentences Centers and Worksheets
By Jennifer Connett
Students will practice distinguishing between complete and incomplete sentences with this worksheet and center packet. There are hands on centers and worksheets to help students identify complete sentences and sentence fragments.
Activities Included:
The acorn theme makes this grammar activity perfect for fall or autumn. Students will be able to sort sentences, unscramble sentences and identify complete and incomplete sentences with these worksheets and center activities.
When to Use:
By including hands on activities, these grammar center allow students a tactile way to practice recognizing complete sentences and identifying incomplete sentences. The sorts and clip cards can be done individually or with a partner. The worksheets make great independent practice as well as work to send home for parents to review with their children.
Skills Assessed:
The worksheets are no prep. The teacher just needs to print out each one and give them to students to complete. The clip cards and sorts are low prep activities. They just need to be printed and cut apart. Laminate the centers to create a reusable activity. The clip cards can easily be stored in task boxes for easy set up, clean up and storage.

Contractions Self Checking Cards
By Jennifer Connett
Have students practice making and breaking apart contraction with this set of self checking cards. There are two sets of contraction cards. One set shows the words (it is) on the top and the contraction (it's) hidden inside. The second set is reversed, with the contraction on the outside and the words are hidden. There is a recording sheet for each set.
Students will look at the words or contraction on the front of the card. Then, they will write the words or contraction on the recording sheet in the first column. They will then write the corresponding contraction or words in the second column. Finally, the student will open the card to see if they answered the second column correctly. They then fill in YES or NO in the third column to indicate whether their answer was right or wrong in the second column. They fix the second column if they were incorrect.
