Phonemic Awareness Cards R-Controlled Vowels

Let's be honest, phonemic awareness can be SO boring for our students! Whenever we are working on it they want to use the words in sentences or want to see a picture of what that word means! Now they have a picture to connect to the word!
These cards are so much fun my students beg me to work with them! I let them choose their manipulative; whether it is play-dough to tap, legos, chips, or blocks! This also gives those kiddos struggling with blending and segmenting a concrete method to gain those skills!
The cards are broken into each vowel so that you can easily practice phonemic awareness with the vowel you are working on. You can also mix them up so they can practice the skill for each vowel!

Reading and letters can be FUN! These games are perfect for small-group instruction or centers! I give different tips and tricks to work on each skill! I would use these as a Friday fun day during small-groups and my students loved them! These games don't have any prep! Print and play! I would suggest laminating or sticking in a sheet protector to keep them nice for a longer period of time!

100 High Frequency Word Sheets - Stations, Morning Work, Small Groups, Indep.

1-100 of Fry's High Frequency Words in an easy to use, kindergarten or first grade friendly format. Perfect to use after explicit instruction in the spelling pattern or irregularities associated with words that are sometimes not decodable!
Students use a variety of modalities to orthographically map the the word including:
- Finger trace
- Find and circle
- Write
- Color
- Read it in 2-3 easily decodable sentences
- Draw it
- Use in a sentence - A perfect way to introduce sentence stems!
This resource is perfect to use in ELA small group stations as it provides a visual reminder of what to do in each section for non-readers.
We all know that memorizing words is not the best practice as it relates to the Science of Reading. Using these sheets after explicit instruction will help young learners retain and practice their skills!
