1st Grade Reading Strategies Literature Circles (by date, oldest first)

These CVC read and reveal cards make a great phonics center for segmenting and blending CVC words. These phonics cards are easy to prep and the resulting literacy center will provide independent practice that students with love! The self checking nature of the cards will give students instant feedback on if they read the word correctly.

These phonics based CVC word work centers are great for students learning to read CVC words. Practice beginning, middle and ending sounds of CVC words, spelling CVC words and reading CVC words with the activities in this bundle. Students can gain practice in reading and spelling over 250 CVC words.

With read and reveal cards, students can practice reading, decoding and sounding out words and then check their reading by opening the card and revealing the picture inside! Each set of cards focuses on a different phonics skill.

Each cards in these sets have lines and dots for students to move their finger along as they sound out each word. After sounding out the word, students open the card to see if they read the word correctly!

All activities have been designed with student engagement at the forefront. In responding to the book, students will be required to think both within and beyond the text. Children learn best when they are having fun! Even better that they are learning the love of books at the same time!
