How to Play:
Where's the Black Cat is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a cat is hidden behind a pumpkin. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the sight word they think the cat is behind. Once guessed, the sight word is removed. If the cat is behind the pumpkin, then the cat must be hidden again to play further. If the cat is not behind the pumpkin, then the poem is chanted again with a new sight word.

It's Memory!... but with... emoji sight words?
I know, I know... I went off in a different direction with this one. But it was too good of an idea to pass up! I might make more like it!
Students can practice random emoji sight words like "house", "zebra", or "heart" to their pictures in this player vs player or player vs computer game. Cards randomly generate using a choice of about 50 words and pictures.
NOTE: The video is to show how the game works. This copy isn't math based. It uses random sight words and pictures, not math equations.
Features:
* Players can play the computer or another player!
* Computer generates a different combination of pictures and words for you each game; it knows when students are right or wrong.
* A simple computer AI adds a challenge to the game. It keeps track of cards that have already been flipped and knows when they match. Sometimes it chooses to not match, simulating that it "forget".
* Four different robot card backs! They range from R.O.B., the friendly robot, to the out of control Zoe. Players can choose their favorite!
* Music and sound effects make the game fun and interesting.
* Runs on Chromebooks and PC!
JavaScript must be enabled and you must have an internet connection.
Running is EZ! Download the attached file and upzip it. You need BOTH files in the same folder to play. Double click MathMemorySightWords.html and play! That's it! The game should open in your browser and function!

Each set comprises 31 captivating cards, each adorned with 6 words in different colors.
To create sets of 31 cards each, the words are meticulously arranged in the following manner:
Set 1: Weeks 1 to 5 (6 words each week) Modules 1-2*
Set 2: Weeks 6 to 10 (6 words each week) Modules 2*-4*
Set 3: Weeks 11 to 15 (6 words each week) Modules 4*-5
Set 4: Weeks 16 to 18 (10 words each week)Module 6
Set 5: Weeks 19 to 21 (10 words each week) Module 7

This product is a supplemental activity to make your lessons more engaging! This product is the BANG! word game using decodable words and sight words from 1st Grade Benchmark Literacy Phonics Unit 1. Benchmark Literacy Phonics Unit 1 is beginning l-family blends (cl, bl, fl, pl, and sl). This produce includes four pages. The decodable words are on the first two pages and the sight words are on the last two pages. There are a total of 40 card which includes 16 decodable words, 14 sight words, and 10 "BANG!" cards. The cards can also be used as flashcards! Directions on how to play: • Students take turns drawing the cards from a face-down pile and try to say the word on the card. • If they can say the word correctly, they get to keep the card. If they cannot, the card goes on the bottom of the card for someone else to have a chance. Directions
Rolling the Die:
- Students roll a six-sided die to determine which sight word they will read.
- Students can also scan the QR code on the worksheet using a device with a QR code scanner to access a virtual dice roller.
Reading the Sight Word:
- Students match the number rolled with the corresponding sight word on their worksheet.
- Students read the sight word out loud.
- Students should focus on pronouncing each word correctly and quickly.
Marking Progress:
- Once students read a sight word, they should highlight or color the box. They could also cover it with a counter or place marker etc.
- If students roll a number they have already completed, they should roll again until they land on a new sight word.
- Students continue rolling and reading until they have completed all the sight words on their worksheets.
