Make your own: I can read story
By Tomorrowcomes
Make your own book template! Kids love writing their own stories. This is an easy to print document that students can put together themselves to make their own book. Working on vocabulary or spelling words? Have students copy them at the beginning of the book and then use them throughout the story. Have students share their own stories with others in the class to encourage reading skills. All you need to do is print out a copy for each student, and let their own imagination soar.
Balloon Book Parade (Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade)
By Colleen Burdette
Fun, engaging book activity:
This project is a fun way to keep students engaged in reading leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. You can establish this activity by reading the book "Balloons Over Broadway" by Melissa Sweet. This helps students understand the concept of Balloons at a parade.
Teachers can determine whether students will decorate an actual balloon or just designing a balloon. Instructions are included for both activities.
A question booklet containing questions about character and setting is provided. Students will make real world connections between their character and themselves. There are three versions of this booklet each with its own type of handwriting lines.
Students will love showing off their creation in a class parade!
