Teach kids the "Good" of Good Friday. Jesus came to save! All the sad and painful things He had to go through were all a part of God's plan to save us! He willingly followed this plan, all the way to the cross.

Good Friday can be a difficult lesson to teach littles, so I created this lesson to give you plenty of material to teach them the "Good" news of Good Friday.

I provided many options so you can decide how detailed you like to teach the cross and what images you would like to use.

This lesson tells all Jesus went through to save us from the garden of Gethsemane to the high priest, to Pontius Pilate, to the soldiers mistreating Him, to the cross, and then to the grave. Throughout it all, I reinforce- We know Jesus could have stopped them, but He trusted in God’s plan to save us. He knew this was the only way. I also include that He came back alive.

✨Shamrock Nature Hunt

Print and Go Nature activity. Children explore the outdoors to find shamrocks and record their findings. Can also be used as a attention grabber to the lesson or a teaching visual during lesson.

✨The Holy Trinity Shamrock Craft

This simple craft will is a wonderful visual for The Holy Trinity. Color, cut and pate the images and poem onto the three leaves on the shamrock.

I also included a dot marker version for younger kids.

Ideas for Use:

• If you use More Than Words by Master Books : This is a great supplement to the first lesson in book 1
• Holy Trinity Sunday
• If a child is choosing to be baptized, this is a great way to explain the Father, Son and Holy Spirit before baptism
• Integrate close to Saint Patrick's Day with the Shamrock Visual

Note:

•The Holy Trinity is a very complex theological subject. I have tried my best to make it just a bit understandable to littles, although it is still quite a wonderful mystery to even us adults.

•We do not know what the Father looks like and the spirit is unseen. The picture of “God The Father” is just the closest thing I could find to give the students a visual. The dove comes from when Jesus was baptized and the Bible says “The Spirit descended on Him like a dove.” The fire is from when the Spirit came at the Pentecost.

•There is no mention of Saint Patrick in this lesson. Only the Trinity and shamrock visual.

•It’s all from the Bible :If you have any questions on the content of the lesson, please scroll to the very end of this resource to see all of the Bible verses and chapters I studied to make sure this lesson was Biblically accurate. These can also be used as an extension to many of the main points in the lesson.
