By Christa Nonnemaker

Unlock the door to immersive historical exploration with this primary source curriculum resource, designed to captivate and inspire your students!

This Primary Source Worksheet features two passages written by W.E.B. Du Bois. One passage discusses the Talented Tenth and the other reveals Du Bois' thoughts on racial issues in the South. Students will be enlightened by Du Bois' attitudes on these subjects. Three Questions follow the passage which direct students toward clear understanding of the passage.

On the second page, the passage is enhanced with Meanings and Definitions in order to facilitate and improve understanding. A Differentiated Learning Option is also available for students.

Do you love historical fiction? My novel, Hearts at War, features a white girl and a Japanese-American boy who are childhood friends whose growing attraction to one another in high school will be severed by war, family and social pressures once they enter college. They come of age in California and coincidence will throw them together again in the Pacific theater of war as they both serve in the military. Will they be able face the challenges of war and find a way back to each other? Available on Amazon or Kindle/Kindle Unlimited. Young Adults/Adults/Interracial Romance. I appreciate any reviews! Quotation Marks in Dialogue

By Sign with me TOD

As our students are completing written assignments, using quotation marks in dialogue can be confusing. Students need to remember to use a comma before or after a quote, a capital letter when a statement is made by a character, descriptive tags, and quotation marks. Students can get easily confused when learning how to show dialogue between characters when they are having a conversation. In this product, students review why quotation marks are used in dialogue, complete sentences to show dialogue (adding in commas and quotation marks), make corrections to sentences by adding missing commas or quotation marks, make up sentences to show dialogue based on picture scenarios, make up sentences without picture scenarios that include dialogue, and students also have the opportunity to write a short story that include at least 5 communication exchanges between characters that include capitalization, commas, quotation marks, and descriptive tags.
