What’s in this pack?

This pack contains 48 exam style question cards covering the new curriculum for the top grades of the new gcse in algebra. The design of the cards means you can use these in a variety of ways in your classroom; as a starter or a plenary, as extension work, as homework or as a revision tool. An answer key is included.

The questions feature some challenging topics including rearranging fractional equations, expanding more than one brackets, manipulating and solving algebraic fractions with both addition and division, algebraic proofs that include some well known theories, as well as some rewriting of equation questions, factorising, completing the square and solving of quadratic equations and inequalities where the coefficient of x^2 is greater than one, as well as where the question is set up through scenarios,finding the nth term of quadratic sequences and working with the Fibonacci sequence, working with quadratic simultaneous equations, composite and inverse functions, and a variety of graph transformation questions.

This resource is designed to expose students to the life skill of calculating tips when going out to eat or receive a service that requires a tip (Ex. barber, nail salon). Students will read sales receipts, calculate the subtotal of a meal or service, calculate the tip and find the total. In some cases students will be asked to calculate a split bill. On some worksheets, students will be asked to read an example scenario and determine if the guests tipped to much, too little or the correct and determine the correct tip and subtotal

If students are not ready for coins, encourage them to use the dollar up strategy.

If you think you might change districts, this is the bundle for you! It includes Google, Microsoft, and print versions. Students will practice writing inverses, converses, contrapositives, and biconditionals given a conditional statement. They will also determine whether a statement is valid or not.

The digital forms are multiple choice. Both the Google and Microsoft forms are self-checking.
