Need a great, easy-to-use reading log? This was successfully used for many years when we had a time slot cut out for a 30-minute reading time each day. Students earn points towards rewards such as homework passes, computer time, or have your students earn point each six weeks or quarter for a special movie day event.

Posters including 17 literary devices which are easy to print and use in your classroom. Add them to your word wall or brighten up a reading area.

This resource focuses on CHAPTER 4 of We Beat The Street and features 5 inference-based questions that require students to demonstrate inferential thinking and a deep analysis of the chapter - beyond literal comprehension. Each inference-based question can be treated as an extended response where students must make inferences and support their responses, ideas, and/or analysis with evidence from the text.

► There is a "combo" worksheet, which includes all five questions on two pages. There are also 5 separate worksheets that include the same questions on a different worksheet. This allows for more extensive responses. You can have students either complete all five inference-based questions on the "combo" worksheet all at once OR you can have students complete each of the questions at different times: for classwork, independent practice, homework, or formative assessment - your choice! You can even give students different questions depending on their levels - excellent for differentiation.

► I also included a blank worksheet for you to generate your own question and students write it in the box!

► A detailed ANSWER KEY for the questions have been included. The ideas and evidence in the Answer Keys are accompanied by page numbers to help you facilitate discussion more smoothly and navigate to important ideas and events without looking for the information in the book. The Answer Keys are so comprehensive that you can even develop additional questions that will encourage students to engage in productive classroom talk!

► A 2-Point rubric is included for scoring with a section for comments and feedback at the bottom. Finally, there are five visually appealing Bulletin Board Task Display Pages to display with student work. The Bulletin Board Task Display Pages are personalized for each question worksheet! Students will unscramble the given sentences that emphasize the 23 different sports vocabulary words and the verbs - play, go to, will go, and went. After students unscramble each sentence, they will be required to make up a sentence stating if they like or dislike each sport.

At the end of the product, students will have the opportunity to answer questions regarding what their favorite and least favorite sport is. Students will also be asked to make up a sentence using the following words: I like, I dislike, I go to, I play, I will go, and I went.

I typically allow:

• One class period to read/annotate the passage (passages not included/resource will work for any passage)
• One class period to analyze the question stems
• One class period to answer questions and provide analysis/rationales of answer choices
• This process can be adjusted as needed for in-class assignments or homework. Pacing can also be adjusted as needed, especially as students become more familiar with the process.

Print these fun bookmarks on colored or white cardstock and provide them to your students. The goal is to challenge the students to read and keep up with the number of books they read. Once they have finished a book, they are to color it to reflect they have finished the book.

You may also choose to laminate and them and have them use a permanent marker to cross out the emoji.

This resource focuses on CHAPTER 22 and Conclusion of We Beat The Street and features 5 inference-based questions that require students to demonstrate inferential thinking and a deep analysis of the chapter - beyond literal comprehension. Each inference-based question can be treated as an extended response where students must make inferences and support their responses, ideas, and/or analysis with evidence from the text.

► There is a "combo" worksheet, which includes all five questions on two pages. There are also 5 separate worksheets that include the same questions on a different worksheet. This allows for more extensive responses. You can have students either complete all five inference-based questions on the "combo" worksheet all at once OR you can have students complete each of the questions at different times: for classwork, independent practice, homework, or formative assessment - your choice! You can even give students different questions depending on their levels - excellent for differentiation.

► I also included a blank worksheet for you to generate your own question and students write it in the box!

► A detailed ANSWER KEY for the questions have been included. The ideas and evidence in the Answer Keys are accompanied by page numbers to help you facilitate discussion more smoothly and navigate to important ideas and events without looking for the information in the book. The Answer Keys are so comprehensive that you can even develop additional questions that will encourage students to engage in productive classroom talk!

► A 2-Point rubric is included for scoring with a section for comments and feedback at the bottom.
