This resource includes three Social Skills Text Messaging Worksheets (featuring the same text message conversation) where students can answer either two lower-level questions or two higher-level questions about the conversation between two people—perfect for differentiation! The third worksheet offers a blank space for you to create your own questions, allowing students to write them down. Additionally, there are two Bulletin Board Task Display pages to showcase student work on bulletin boards as soon as they finish—saving you valuable time! Each worksheet also includes a Sample Response to help facilitate discussion.

This resource is also included in Google Slides! Text boxes have already been created to make it easier for you and your students! Each slide includes two instruction solution tabs for when students accidentally delete text boxes and when they want to zoom in (to enlarge worksheets). Creating a positive environment for students is a top priority, but it can be difficult when individuals lack an awareness of the impact of their words towards others, especially when it does not affect them in the same way. This activity brings awareness and a better understanding, while also increasing empathy and care toward others. I also like to remind students that we cannot control what other people chose to say and do, though we can take time to educate and create awareness, especially when something they are saying or doing is impacting us. This lesson can be customized to fit whatever statements would be most beneficial in recognizing within your school.

Students will fill in the petals on the flower with words from the list provided or from other sources to encourage positive self talk.

Want a quick easy way to check in with your students at the end of the week? This worksheet is for you! Allows students to reflect on their week while looking ahead to the incoming week. There is ONE Anticipation Guide that comes in two different variations:

▶️ Variation #1:

⭐ Part 1: The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.

⭐ Part 2: The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. They may reflect on how the statement connects to their own lives, share a personal experience related to it, or elaborate on their thoughts concerning its importance in greater detail.

▶️ Variation #2: This Anticipation Guide worksheet format includes a list of statements accompanied by columns for "AGREE," "DISAGREE," and "COMMENTS." Students are instructed to read each statement and mark either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE." They are then encouraged to elaborate on their thoughts or ideas regarding each statement in the designated "COMMENTS" column.

SELF-ASSESSMENT

There is ONE Self-Control Self-Assessment included in this resource. Students will evaluate or determine their Self-Control skills by scoring the statements using the following scale: 2 for “Always,” 1 for “Sometimes,” and 0 for “Never.” They can use this assessment tool to develop a better understanding of how they manage their feelings, emotions, and behaviors in difficult situations, and how they resolve problems.

These assessment statements can also serve as a means to explore students' competencies and viewpoints regarding the topic!
