Authentic listening activities for Spanish class can be so hard to find!  We want our students to practice their listening skills but we don’t want to spend an hour searching for a good video!  This YouTube video is about winter in Chile.  A young person takes us around his city and explains what winter is like there.  To check comprehension, students will answer questions as they watch. Students will make comparisons and discover similarities and differences between their own experience and the speaker’s experience in Chile.   An answer key is also included!

This is one of my students' favorite projects and a great way to wrap up a unit on clothing. In this project, students will embark on a virtual shopping adventure to purchase clothing items for a family in need. With $600 American dollars collected for a family affected by a recent house fire, students will use their language skills to navigate an authentic Spanish online store to select clothing items for a family of four.
