This brand-new activity combines reading and coloring to produce a fun way for your students to learn or review the imperfect tense verb endings. This activity is great for last-minute sub plans or days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc) as well as reviewing or reinforcing verbs in the imperfect tense. French subjunctive, imperative and future tense paired speaking activity

No prep printable paired speaking activity to practice forming the present subjunctive and the futur simple. Students will see how useful the subjunctive is with one expression repeated over and over again: Vous voulez que _____? Many regular and irregular verbs are used in this activity, and the repetition is really helpful.

Example:

Élève 1: Prenez le bus. (Student reads the sentence in the imperative)

Take the bus.

Élève 2: Vous voulez que je _____? (prenne le bus)

You want me to take the bus?

Élève 1: Oui, je veux que vous _____. (preniez le bus)

You want us to take the bus?

Élève 2: D'accord, je _____ si vous voulez. (prendrai le bus)

Ok, I'll take the bus if you like.

I like to have my students work in pairs when doing this activity. On the first try it usually takes them a few extra seconds to think about the correct conjugation of the verb in question. For that reason, I have them repeat each set two or three times to encourage fluency.
