$5 - $10 11th Grade Writing Homework (by date, latest first)

This project aims to help your child/students practice their research skills. They will pick one of the "realms" or regions based on the realms represented in the Nutcracker Ballet (when visiting after Marie/Clara rescues the Nutcracker/Prince). Children/students can practice following instructions and requirements by following the assignment's instructions. Two options are available to complete the report. 1. Predesigned Research Page or 2. Written Research Report (with introduction and conclusion). An optional presentation extension is available for students to create a project based on architecture, dress, or food research done on their report. Rubrics and student instructions are available for each report/and the Presentation.

• Glossary of Literary Devices: A glossary with definitions and examples of the various types of figurative language, imagery, stanzas, syntactic devices, etc. Many teachers already have a glossary of literary devices, but I'm providing this in case you need one. (2 pages)

• Analysis of Trends on Recent AP Lit Exams: This analysis of poems included on recent AP Lit Exams yields several insights that should inform how you construct your literature curriculum. Should you prioritize older poems or diverse authors? Sonnets or free verse? (2 pages)

• Grading Rubric: The rubric includes columns that will enable you to give feedback on each student's thesis, textual evidence, analysis of literary devices, organization of paragraphs, and mechanics. (1 page)
