Through this activity, not only will they have fun working together or individually to solve the puzzle, but they will alsohave the opportunity to practice reading the latitude and longitude coordinate grid system (absolute location). IDEAS FOR USING THIS RESOURCE:

• Collaborative Online Activity: They answer the question in their group, then read through their classmate's answers in other groups. • Collaborative Printed Pre-Reading Activity:  A printable version of the questions is also included so that the Chalk Talk activity can be conducted in the classroom using chart paper. Simply print and cut out the slide and paste them on chart paper and allow students to travel to each poster in groups and leave answers/comments using post-its and/or markers.
