3 three words

• Whoever is drawing cards must use only THREE words to get the team to guess. These words can be repeated, can be said in different volumes or rates but must be only three words.

Play French scattergories when you need a quick, no prep activity to review and practice vocabulary. Le Petit Bac sera le jeu parfait! You can play this game with students of any age or level. 24 games are included with 96 different categories!

Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories on their game. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them! Save with the bundle!

• practice several skills at once

Playing TABOO is a great way to get students to speak English and learn a lot of new FOOD vocabulary. This game is great fun, suitable for any English speaking classroom when you want to get your students to talk to each other using descriptive words, and 4th - 12th grade will enjoy playing it.

70 Taboo game cards to print, laminate, cut out and hook together with a ring

How to play 15 MINUTES MAX - an alternative version of the game

*In the upper left corner there's a spot for you to punch holes in the cards so that you can then attach them with a ring for no prep use every time. Be sure to laminate if at all possible!

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

The vocabulary includes rooms in the house, common household items and appliances.

This is a really fun activity to play with your students as they practice and build their house and home themed vocabulary. Students of all ages can play this vocabulary game.

Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories for each game on their game card. 4 game cards are included for a total of 12 games and 48 categories. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them!

12 games are included with 48 different categories! Just print out the game sheets and you're ready to go. For younger students you can allow more time for thinking and writing, while older students will love the challenge of the timer.

Cities and Towns: ESL - ELL Group Speaking Activity: Find someone who…

Find someone who... This ESL group speaking activity is great for getting students to speak and practice their vocabulary when learning about cities and towns. Your students will enjoy getting up and moving around the classroom as they ask their classmates questions that are listed on the worksheet which includes sixteen questions. This activity can also be used in any English speaking classroom as an ice-breaker or getting to know you activity.

This resource includes:

One worksheet to print out and make one copy for each student in your class. There are sixteen squares on the grid. Each square contains one question and a space to write a classmate’s name.

Instructions:

Have your students move around the room asking classmates the questions that are written in the squares on the grid that you provide. If a classmate responds with YES he or she writes his name on the line provided. Complete sentences are encouraged even when the answer is NO. Activity continues until all boxes are filled. Once all of the boxes have been signed your students can turn in their papers.

This is a fun, interactive way to review vocabulary about cities and towns and to practice speaking. Your students will enjoy learning fun facts about their classmates, and you will certainly like hearing them speak English!
