Addition and Subtraction Word Problem Sort
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Use this poster to help your students learn how to identify if a word problem is calling for addition or subtraction. Print the chart as a poster to use as an interactive anchor chart with the large size word, or print as an independent worksheet with the smaller words. Use with my Word Problem task cards to expand the lesson and see their new skills in action by letting them sort the task cards! Clip art from Busy Bee Studio.
Place Value Task Cards, Expanded Form, Base Ten Blocks
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Students will build number sense and practice identifying place value with this set of task cards with four digit numbers.
Cards include four digit numbers written in standard form, expanded form, word form, and represented with base ten block clip art.
Directions and ideas for differentiation are included.
Can be combined with my two and three digit cards.
Thanksgiving Turkey Math Counting and Single Digit Addition
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Based on ability level, students can use the single tens frame and the number cards to represent a given number using manipulatives. Students who are ready for more of a challenge can roll dice to create an addition problem and use the tens frames to represent and solve the addition problem using manipulatives.
Single Digit Addition Fall Math Activity Craft
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Students will color leaves red and yellow, glue them to their tree trunks, and construct a single digit math problem using the visuals!
Base Ten Block Place Value Number Matching
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Updated to include word form!
Students can use these cards to match two and three-digit numbers with their base ten block representations and their expanded form. Use the cards individually to create even more activities. For example, give students the three digit number card and have them build the number using actual base ten blocks. You can also give the students the clip art cards and have them write the three digit numbers or the numbers in expanded form. The possibilities are endless and easily differentiated for every learner.

Double Digit Addition without Regrouping
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
A fun way to practice double digit addition without regrouping. Print out the window sheets and glue them into a file folder. I laminated the whole folder. Then print and laminate, and cut apart the flower vases. Add velcro to the windows and vases and allow students to match their answers by placing a flower vase on the window sill.
Counting Mats: Roll it, make it, find it, write it
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Use these mats for small groups or independent practice with one or two dice. Students roll the dice, count the dots, use manipulatives to represent the number, locate the number, and practice writing the number. Print and laminate the sheet or put it in a page protector to use with a dry erase marker for repeated use.
Updated to include a version of the mats with tens frames to help "make" the numbers.
Updated a second time to include a version of the mat with an addition sign for added math skill practice.
Digital and Printable Differentiated Addition, Subtraction, and Multiplication
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Get your students up and moving with this fun Hopscotch Math activity! Digital and printable version are included.
Draw a hopscotch board on the sidewalk. Toss bean bags (a folded pair of socks works too!) on to two numbers. Write the numbers in the boxes and solve the equation. Then hop to the numbers to get the bean bags and begin again!
For the digital version, type the numbers into the text boxes.
If you do not have sidewalk chalk, they can pick two numbers from the hopscotch image included on the worksheets. Alternatively, they can use a pack of playing cards (numbers only) to draw numbers.
The Snowmen's Day- Adding Single Digits to 10
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Students will create a book about how ten snowmen spent their day! Each page shows a way to make ten. Rhyming sentences show how different groups of snowmen do different things, but each time, all ten are together. With three differentiated versions, there is sure to be one to fit the needs of each of your students. Students can draw their own snowmen in the boxes on the pages, color in the correct number of snowmen in each box, or color in an errorless version. Students can also use manipulatives to count out snowmen instead of drawing or match the manipulative to the picture. At the bottom of each page, students will be able to write in the equation that equals ten.
Fall Activities for Primary Grades, Pre-K, Special Education
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
These fall activities will get your class in the seasonal spirit! Apples, pumpkins, and leaves team up to help your students practice skills such as counting, single digit addition, graphing, and even sequencing events. From no-prep to low-prep, these ELA and math activities are the perfect addition to your classroom.
Place Value Number Matching with Base Ten Blocks Expanded Form
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Students can use these cards to match two-, three-, and four-digit numbers with their base ten block representations, expanded form, and written form. Use the cards individually to create even more activities. For example, give students the three digit number card and have them build the number using actual base ten blocks. You can also give the students the clip art cards and have them write the three digit numbers or the numbers in expanded form. The possibilities are endless and easily differentiated for every learner.
