By Down in the Art Room
This resource contains 11 different Native American Feather art projects that let students explore a variety of media while learning about Native American culture. Perfect for Native American Heritage Month (November), this resource is designed for 2nd-5th grades but may be adapted for middle school or even younger students.
Looking to engage your students? This resource is highly engaging and cross-curricular. With 11 feather projects, there is something for every student. Facts about feathers and their significance in Native American culture are included.
Need to assess student knowledge or skills? Many of the projects are short, one-day projects ideal for experimenting with new media or assessing skills. Ideas for assessment are included.
What about differentiating for my students? With a variety of projects using many different media, you have many project choices to allow you to differentiate the project and/or the process of creating the project.
Can I use it with centers? This resource may be used with or without centers. Using centers allows students to work at different rates while all students are still working and creating but projects may easily be done without centers.
What about art content? National Arts Standards and TEKS (standards for Texas) are included for 2nd - 5th grades. Each project also includes relevant art vocabulary to use with the lesson.
