Students can use these cards to match two-, three-, and four-digit numbers with their base ten block representations, expanded form, and written form. Use the cards individually to create even more activities. For example, give students the three digit number card and have them build the number using actual base ten blocks. Winter Adapted Books (4 Interactive & adaptive books matching, clothing, & more

Adaptive Books with a theme of winter cover fun topics, such as colors, activities, and clothing. These books require some prep work; however, once made, you can use them year after year!
These adaptive books are created with various students in mind, as our classrooms can be diverse! I have also found even my most reluctant readers are more eager to participate in learning activities when I pull out interactive activities such as these books. While the books have eight icons to use as choices, you can adapt by providing less when reading and asking follow-up questions.
Book 1: Wintertime Fun
Students will listen to a short story using repetitive text paired with actions. The sentence will read, "In the winter, I like to...". After reading the sentences, have students select the correct action: sledding, ice hockey, snow angels, snowboarding, riding a ski lift, snowy nights, ice skating & building a snowman.
Book 2: Colorful Winter
Students will listen to a story with repetitive text ("I see a") and identify the item. The items are focused on winter items. An excellent book for practicing color recognition.
Book 3: Clothing we wear
I have provided two levels with a focus on the clothing we wear. The first level is supported with a corresponding picture so students can match the items. The second level is only words.
Book 4: Snow Day
This short story concerns the school being called off due to too much snow. There are ten interactive pages in this book.

Adaptive Books & followup materials focused on following directions.
Following Directions: Adaptive books are interactive, as students will match the corresponding icon to each page. The books 2 levels and they are in color and in black and white. Level 1: short paragraph about different scenarios in which students need to follow directions (bathroom, dismissal, computer, work, snack, recess, & games. Level 2: book contains repetitive text "I will listen to my teacher when ....".
Following Directions Supplemental worksheets: Print and go worksheets! They are designed for student who need additional practice with simple directions. Use these during direct instruction & after reading the adaptive stories.

Adaptive Books Wh questions "Who" & "What" task cards, print and go worksheets

Adapted Books with a focus on "Wh" Questions: "What" and "Who" is a set of four books designed to help children learn and practice their comprehension skills. The set includes two books with a focus on "what" questions and two books with a focus on "who" questions.
Extend student practice through print and go worksheets, task cards, and a sorting activity.
Adaptive books are a valuable tool to use with students. While the books do require some prep work such as printing, laminating, cutting and velcro; they can be used again and again! They are highly motivational for even the most reluctant learners. Each book has 8 picture icons to choose from. You can easily adapt by sharing less options with your students.
What:
Book 1: What do you wear? is a fun and interactive way for children to learn about appropriate clothing choices for different weather conditions. It presents various scenarios and asks children to choose the correct clothing to wear for each situation. For example, "It is a sunny summer day and you want to go swimming". What will you wear? Clothing for all seasons is included.
Book 2: What are they doing? is designed to help children practice predicting and understanding cause and effect. It presents various situations and asks children to determine what the characters will do in each scenario. Children can reinforce their understanding by stating what they would do in each situation. "I will... Situations include: Cooking, painting, playing ball, crying, cleaning, eating, reading and sleeping.
What/Who:
Book 3 & 4: This book is available as either Who lives here or What animal lives here. They are a fun and engaging way for children to learn about different animals and their habitats. It presents different locations and asks children to choose the animal that lives in each place. Support is provided with a hint for each animal to help children who may not have prior knowledge of the animal's habitat or characteristics.
Example: Book 3 - Who lives inside a home? Book 4 - What animal lives inside a home? Hint: I am soft, cuddly and I meow. Animals include: starfish, bunny, skunk, penguin, fish, bear, whale and cat.
Book 5: So many jobs! Who will do them? is designed to help children learn about different occupations and the roles they play in society. It presents various jobs, including traditional careers such as teacher and firefighter, as well as more unusual careers such as rockstar. This book encourages children to think about what they might want to do when they grow up. Jobs include: teacher, farmer, ball player, firefighter, police, fisherman, cook & rockstar!
Book 6: Who will do it? This book presents a problem (I need or I like something), and a solution (who I can get this from). For example, I like cookies. Who will bake them? or I need groceries. Who will I pay?
Print and Go:
Continue practicing student understanding of "what" and "who" questions through 16 additional practice pages.
Task Cards: All cards are colorful and made to be laminated and reused. I store mine in small containers (pictures in preview)

Spring Counting #1-10 Interactive Adapted books for Special Education

Have fun counting with Spring Adapted Books. Work with your students on on counting #1-10, 1-1 correspondence, and number identification with this set of books. These interactive books provide opportunities for students to identify and utilize numbers on each page. These books require some prep work; however, once made, you can use them year after year! They utilize limited color ink for easy printing.
Students will enjoy the colorful items they are counting. They will count ladybugs, flowers on the tree, rainbow drops, bunnies, bird egg and bees.
Each book comes with 2 formats: Book 1: Read the sentence with your students. They will find the correct icon from a selection of 10. / Book 2: Count the items and select the correct number from a choice of 10. This set has 12 books in all, with 6 different "topics" to count.

Adapted Books: Let's Get Ice cream & Counting PLUS activities! (Sped, ESY)

This set of adapted books focuses on ordering ice cream and counting scoops (#1-10). This is great summer, end of the year, or ESY! Followup activities allow for writing, play, and task cards. This is a perfect activity for students who love adapted books, and enjoy imaginative play!
What is included?
This set includes 2 adapted books & extension activities.
Book 1: Students will read about going to the ice cream shop and ordering some ice cream! This book includes 8 interactive pieces.
Book 2: Practice counting ice cream scoops with this interactive book. Numbers 1-10 are included (thereby there is 10 interactive pieces). Count the scoops and find the matching number.
Followup activities allow for additional practice with numbers 1-10, and imaginative play / communication practice.

Do your students love baseball? These Adaptive Books with a baseball theme will be a hit for sure!
4 books are included in this set: Opening day, Matching, colors and How do I throw, catch, and hit a baseball?
Opening Day: Students will enjoy a short story with opening day concepts. Check their understanding as they choose the correct icon to match the page.
Matching: Students will read different baseball vocabulary and select matching icons. Repetitive text: "What do you see? I see...". Each page includes a picture (bat, baseball, home plate, catcher, scoreboard, umpire, glove and field)
What color baseball hat do you see?: Students will read repetitive text "What color baseball hat do you see? I see...." Basic colors (red, white, blue, pink, green, yellow, purple) are included in this book.
How do you throw, catch and hit a baseball?: This book provides an introduction to throwing, catching and hitting a baseball. Read this story with your students then go outside and have some fun!

Book 1: Let's Go on a Picnic
Students will listen to a repetitive text & select the right food from a choice of 8 items. Each page states, "We/I like to eat," identifies a food, and provides picture support. Follow up with discussions by having students determine if they also like each item mentioned. Foods included: drink, hamburger, hotdog, tomato, watermelon, smores, corn on the cob, and ice cream.
Book 2: Summertime Colors
Students will listen to a story with repetitive text ("I see a") and identify the item. The items are focused on summer & 10 different colors. An excellent book for practicing color recognition.
Book 3: Things to Do in the Summer
This book has vibrant colors to enhance the feeling of summer. A variety of activities are represented in this book. Students will continue developing high-frequency words with the repetitive text "I like to." Activities include baseball, catching bugs, fishing, picnics, swimming, having a lemonade stand, and bubbles.
Book 4: What to Wear in the Summer
This book has students selecting the correct items of clothing for each situation presented. Each page has "I want to," followed by "so I need." For example, students will select sunny days, swimming, and gardening items.

This book identifies 8 jobs to be completed in the classroom. These jobs include:
