⭐Build all the task cards in one sitting. This typically takes 1 – 2 hours to complete the set.

⭐Have the task cards available alongside STEM and STEAM bins, makerspaces, centers, tubs, busy boxes, morning baskets, or available for early finishers to complete using any available materials. Students can even draw their creations instead of building them!

⭐Use one card a day during morning time. Have students fill out a STEAM / STEM worksheet with some of the challenges that require more problem solving and creativity.

⭐Use them for public speaking practice. Allow students to build as many cards as predetermined, followed by show and tell with the class, or their families. Use the Discussion Questions to help guide this portion. Students can practice speaking and listening skills, using loud and clear voices, and giving full attention to the speaker. Encourage students to ask questions to their classmates.

⭐Perfect for partner or group work! Allow students to work with partners, or in groups with specific roles as they problem solve together.

How can you use these task cards?

⭐Have the task cards available in makerspaces, centers, tubs, busy boxes, morning baskets, as a reward, or available for early finishers to complete using ANY available materials. Students can even draw their creations instead of building them!

⭐Use one card or slide a day during morning time. Have students fill out a STEAM / STEM worksheet or slide, and discuss as a class.

⭐Use them for public speaking practice. Allow students to build and then show and tell with the class or their parents. They can discuss what they made, liked, what they would improve, and how it solved the problem on the task cards. They can practice speaking and listening skills, using loud and clear voices, and giving full attention to the speaker. Encourage students to ask questions to their classmates.

⭐Ideally the goal is to do one challenge a day, but you could certainly allow students to do more than one!

This Spring comparing and contrasting activity is a great language activity for speech therapy students or English language learners learning to compare and contrast. The task cards and NO PREP worksheet with simple differences allows for teaching of describing, vocabulary, and complex sentence production.

This resource allows for repeated practice of comparing and contrasting using pictures with one difference. Students will learn to compare and contrast pictures while having fun describing Bugs, Leprechaun, and Bunny pictures. With these printable notation cards your students will practice reading and translating numbers in expanded, standard, and word form, as well as in Golden Bead (Base Ten Blocks) form. They can read one side, translate the number by making it with the Montessori math materials or by writing it down, then they would check the back of the card to see if they were right. They can also work in the other direction by starting on the opposite side of the card.
