Writing a story about a snowman is fun project for your students to show their creativity. Use this no prep holiday activity to practice subitizing numbers 0-5 with tally marks, ten frames, counting hands, dice and dot patterns. Subitizing helps students recognize quantities without counting while developing concepts such as more/less, part vs. whole, and patterns. This versatile Winter math resource can be used as morning work, homework or math centers. It's even great to leave for substitute teachers or in a virtual setting.
