Each passage explores different aspects of this festive holiday, from celebrations to dances and more. They include;

• Celebrating Cinco de Mayo: This passage explores the significance and traditions associated with Cinco de Mayo. Students will learn about the historical context of the holiday and how it is celebrated.
• Cinco de Mayo Pinata Fun: In this passage, students will discover the joy of pinatas during Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
• The Mexican Hat Dance on Cinco de Mayo: This passage introduces students to the lively and rhythmic Mexican Hat Dance (also known as “Jarabe Tapatío”). Students will explore the dance’s history, its traditional costumes, and the energetic steps involved.

Engage your students with this comprehensive Cinco de Mayo Activity Set, designed to help them have a basic understanding of this Mexican holiday. This set includes a variety of activities suitable for students in grades 2, 3, 4, 5, and even 6.

This activity set includes five different activities that challenge students to learn new vocabulary, facts, and perspectives related to Cinco de Mayo.

The activities are:

• 3 Cinco de Mayo Reading Comprehension Passages: The passages focus on the history of Cinco de Mayo and how this cultural holiday is celebrated. Multiple-choice questions and answer keys are also included for each passage.
• Word Search Puzzle: Find 25 hidden words related to the Cinco de Mayo in a grid of letters. The words can be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, or backward.
• Crossword Puzzle: Solve 10 clues to fill in the crossword puzzle with words related to the Cinco de Mayo.
• Word Scramble: Unscramble 11 words related to Cinco de Mayo and write them in the correct spaces.
• Vocabulary Passage: Read a short passage about the Cinco de Mayo and fill in the blank spaces with the correct words from the vocabulary list. The passage introduces some important terms and concepts related to this cultural event.

Each activity comes with an answer key for teachers and allows students to check their work independently.
