Three great activities that would span six lessons and a great classroom display about Ancient Rome. Perfect for students in 3rd grade or 4th grade studying the Ancient Romans or famous Romans such as Julius Caesar.

Secondly, there is a close reading activity - children need to read through an informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing an extension activity.

Finally, there is an informational text writing unit. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Ideal for students learning about Ancient Rome.

It seems like every day is National (insert cool thing here) Day. I decided to look into these holidays to bring some fun and excitement back to informational passages. The best part about these units though... they are EASILY enrichable! For example, write a thank you letter on School Principals' Day, learn about space on Space Day, or having a drawing contest on National Drawing Day!

My class has had such a fun time reading these passages and celebrating something each day.

In this unit, you will be given 31 informational passages with text dependent questions requiring short answer responses.

Please consider that not every day has a holiday that is school appropriate. Not every holiday remains on the same day each year.

All passages are informational based, usually with a history on the day and whatever is being celebrated. Passages have 4-6 questions with a few skills being met:

• asking and answering questions
• main idea
• key details
• making connections
• context clues
• author's POV vs reader's POV

Similar format throughout the unit so students get familiar with text structure and routine quickly. This document has the passage on top with the questions below.

Firstly, there are two close reading passages about both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Each includes a teacher presentation, comprehension and grammar questions, a multiple choice quiz, a crossword puzzle and a wordsearch.

Secondly, there is a great timeline activity that is perfect for introducing students to all of the U.S Presidents throughout history. Great for class work, distance learning and home schooling. There are 46 posters or cards of all of the U.S Presidents, starting with the very first, George Washington, up until present day president, Joe Biden.

This resource will provide your second grade, third grade, and fourth grade students with 30 nonfiction reading passages about holidays in the month of July. Use these no-prep reading comprehension passages to have your students reading about various engaging topics.

It seems like every day is National (insert cool thing here) Day. I decided to look into these holidays to bring some fun and excitement back to informational passages. The best part about these units though... they are EASILY enrichable! For example, watch Donald Duck cartoons on Donald Duck Day, celebrate fathers on Father's Day, or get students to bring their bikes to school for Bicycle Day!

My class has had such a fun time reading these passages and celebrating something each day.

In this unit, you will be given 33 informational passages with text dependent questions requiring short answer responses.

Please consider that not every day has a holiday that is school appropriate. Not every holiday remains on the same day each year.

All passages are informational based, usually with a history on the day and whatever is being celebrated. Passages have 4-6 questions with a few skills being met:

• asking and answering questions
• main idea
• key details
• making connections
• context clues
• author's POV vs reader's POV

Similar format throughout the unit so students get familiar with text structure and routine quickly. This document has the passage on top with the questions below.

Firstly, there are eight reading comprehension activities, or informational texts, about:

• Charlemagne
• William the Conqueror
• King Richard I
• Robin Hood
• Genghis Khan
• Joan of Arc
• The Renaissance
• The War of the Roses

These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity, a crossword and a wordsearch for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.

Then, there are three biography writing units about Charlemagne, Joan of Arc and William the Conqueror. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Also, there is an opinion writing unit about who was the most influential figure from the Middle Ages: Charlemagne, Joan of Arc or William the Conqueror. This unit has again been split into three or four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Finally, there is a Middle Ages Timeline Activity and Display. It is perfect for introducing students to the some of the key events and people of the period. There are 36 posters or task cards that include many of the key events from the end of the Western Roman Empire until the first voyages to the Americas.
