This resources helps students come up with weather words, through brainstorming and through the story Bringing The Rain to Kapiti Plain by Verna Aardema. This resource also introduces the two types of journaling, scientific and personal.

Do your students have a hard time understanding what decomposers are? This resource helps students gain a better understanding of this concept. There is a non-fiction text that tells students about different types of decomposers and their role in the environment. There are follow-up questions for the passage to check student understanding or to guide group discussions. There are also two mini posters; one of the decomposers and one of matter that is being decomposed. Several simple decomposition activities are also listed.

This fun and colorful picture sort is ideal for teaching students about animal classifications and groups! This can be used in a center, for small groups, whole class, or independently! Students are asked to sort animal picture cards into the following categories: mammals, birds, fish, insects, and reptiles/amphibians. The classifying plants file folder activity allows students to label the parts of plants - cells, stem, roots, and leaves. Students will also match the following vocabulary words and their meanings with pictures: parallel veins and netted veins found in leaves, soft stems and woody stems, smooth leaf margins and jagged leaf margins found on leaves, waxy texture, smooth texture, and rough texture found on leaves, and taproots and fibrous roots. Students can do this independently, with support, or with a partner.

In this product, students will learn how animals obtain energy. They will review vocabulary words and their meanings - ecosystem and organism. Students will learn about the importance of food chains and what each link entails - first link - sun, second link - producers, consumers and how they can be carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores, and what each of those consumers means, students will learn about where they get energy from, students will also label the 1st link, 2nd link, producers, and kinds of consumers on food chains.
